Your experiences and views are important to us. They help us to plan and deliver better services to meet your needs.
There are various ways you can get involved, depending on how much time you want to give.
Panels and Groups
If you are interested in a particular health topic or service we regularly hold focused events where you will have time to discuss the issue in depth and to give your views. Please register here (link to form) if you want us to send you details of events.
Or you could join our readers’ panel and look at leaflets and publications to make sure they are easy to understand.
Join your Local Public Involvement Group
Public involvement groups meet on a monthly basis to discuss important health issues and local services. The groups are attended by community and voluntary sector representatives, members of the public, Primary Care Trust and Foundation Trust staff.
If you would like to find out what the groups are currently working on and how to get involved contact Emma Cameron from the Patient, User, Carer and Public Involvement Team on 0800 783 2556 or at emma.cameron@sotw.nhs.uk.
Respond to Public Consultations
We need to know what you think because this helps us to plan and improve our services. We consult with patients in a number of ways including surveys, interviews, focus groups and round table discussions.
Consultations can be informal or formal processes and they may be undertaken at a local or national level.
If you want to sign up to take part in future consultations please register here. You can find out about the latest consultations in your area here.
Come to a Local Engagement Board
Members of the public are invited to our bi-monthly Local Engagement Boards (LEBs) to discuss important health issues and services and to help shape, improve and develop local NHS services. LEBs usually involve a number of presentations on healthcare and Primary Care Trust issues, followed by the opportunity for discussion. Find out more.
Come to a Board Meeting
Our Boards meets in public on a regular basis, so come along to find out more about your local Primary Care Trust and the work it does. Find out more.
